On October 18, 2012 I will turn the big 3-0. Other than getting married and managing to graduate from college, I don’t have a whole lot to show for myself at the age of 30. I’m not a homeowner. I have no children. I have not cured cancer or won a nobel prize. I felt that I needed to do one big thing before the big day in order to avoid an early mid-life crisis. So, I’m running a marathon.

I am not a runner. Not at all. But as it turns out, ANYONE can run a marathon. Yes, YOU can run a marathon. All you need are shoes and 16 weeks of dedication. This blog is the story of lessons/failures/triumphs over those 16 weeks. Here we go.

Updated: I ran the race. I did it! And I won! J/K, the winner beat me by 2 hours. But I did finish. And I got a shiney new medal, which is awesome. I thought I would quit blogging (and running) after the race was over, but the journey continues…

I am a marathoner!

Will is a puuurdy cheerleader!
