The Sex Pistols are writing the soundtrack to my life right now

The Marine Corps Marathon’s fate hangs in the balance this week. The government shut down has meant that all the running trails in DC are blocked off, parking lots chained shut, bathrooms locked, water fountains off.

Until now, I had assumed the marathon would go on as planned. Not so. According to the MCM facebook page, the marathon organizers will make a decision about the fate of the race this Saturday, October 19. That means if we don’t pass a CR by this Friday, there will likely be no Marine Corps Marathon 2013.

Not to worry, Philly and Richmond still have spots! Right? But what about those of us who won’t be getting a paycheck this month? Sign up for an extra marathon! Get a hotel room! NBD.

Will has been furloughed and it remains to be seen if he’ll get a full paycheck this month, or any paycheck at all if some resolution is not reached by the end of October.

Excuse me while I scream into this pillow.
