Things I’d written off

At 30 years old I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will probably never be an astronaut, a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, a Supreme Court justice, or a supermodel. I’d also accepted that I’ll never be an ironman and that I’d never qualify for Boston.

Yesterday after track, we went to happy hour with our running group. Marci and I met a member who we’d never talked to before. This woman told us that she ran her very first marathon in 2000, when there used to be a “DC Marathon”. (Apparently it only happened once.) Thirteen years later, she qualified for Boston.

Never say never.

Tomorrow I start practicing for my Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader tryout.
